576 x 199 cm  //  18ft 11" x 6ft 6"  (max size)

These carpets appear have a design affiliation and structural resemblances with late classical ' Vase ' carpets  of the later Saffavid era . It may be in the post Nadir Shah period of the second quarter of the 18th cent with the political disruptions weavers moved west to the mountainous regions of Kurdistan ( and Azerbaijan ). What is seen here is a carpet from the very early modern era and prior to the better known Bijar and Garrus carpets that were woven close-by and distinct from the later carpets known as Senneh coming from Sanandaj.

The overall pile condition is very good apart from four [4] small patches and small reweave in side border - photographed. One of these patches appear to come from a carpet of the same type from which one might extrapolate  that this carpet may be a part of a Khan's Audience suite of carpets comprising of a triptych with two runners or a set of four carpets which are quite well known from Bijar but not so from Sanandaj

early 19th C (post-classical era)
